This Privacy Policy explains how CloudeIDE ("CloudeIDE", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you visit cloudeide.com or use the CloudeIDE application (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information: your name, email address, and a securely hashed password when you create an account.
- Your workspace: the files, folders, and code you create in the editor are stored locally in your browser, not on our servers. See the Data Use Policy for exactly what does and doesn't leave your browser.
- Code you send to the AI assistant: when you ask the assistant a question, the active file or selection you've attached, plus your conversation history, is sent to our backend and stored against your account so your AI history persists across sessions.
- Subscription and payment information: your plan, credit usage, billing status, and transaction identifiers. Card and payment details are processed directly by our payment providers and are not stored on our servers.
- Usage data: log data such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, features used, and timestamps.
- Cookies and similar technologies: used to keep you signed in and to operate the Service.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Service, including generating AI responses to the code and questions you submit.
- Create and manage your account and authenticate your access.
- Process subscriptions, payments, and enforce usage limits.
- Respond to support requests and communicate important service updates.
- Monitor, secure, and improve the performance and reliability of the Service.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
3. AI Processing
When you use the AI assistant, the message and any code you've explicitly attached is sent to our third-party AI provider (Anthropic, the provider of the Claude models) solely to generate the response returned to you. We do not use your code to train our own models. Avoid pasting secrets, credentials, or other highly sensitive data into the assistant. Full detail on what is and isn't sent is in our Data Use Policy.
4. Third-Party Services
We rely on trusted third parties to deliver the Service. Each processes data only as needed to perform its function:
- AI processing: Anthropic (Claude) processes the code and messages you send to the assistant to produce a response.
- Payments: PayPal securely processes subscription payments and handles your payment details.
- Hosting and infrastructure: our cloud hosting providers store and serve application data.
Each provider maintains its own privacy practices, and we encourage you to review them.
5. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with the service providers described above, when required by law or legal process, to protect our rights and the safety of users, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (subject to this policy).
6. Data Retention
We retain your account data, AI conversation history, and usage records for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Files and folders you create in the editor live in your browser's local storage and are never uploaded to us except the specific content you attach to an AI request. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time, after which we will delete or anonymize it unless we are required to retain it for legal, accounting, or security purposes.
7. Data Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted transport (HTTPS) and hashed password storage. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Request deletion of your account and associated data.
- Object to or restrict certain processing of your information.
- Request a portable copy of your data.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@cloudeide.com.
9. Cookies
We use essential cookies and local storage to maintain your session, keep you signed in, and save your workspace between visits. You can control cookies through your browser settings, but disabling them will affect the functionality of the Service.
10. International Data Transfers
Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than your own. Where required, we take steps to ensure your data receives an adequate level of protection in accordance with applicable law.
11. Children's Privacy
The Service is not intended for individuals under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
